  • A new logo and other good news!
    By on September 27th, 2007

Hello dear readers, have you noticed the new and rather gorgeous logo next to this post? No, well here it is in all it’s glory.

Isn’t it beautiful? Let me know what it conjures up in your mind when you look at it, if I like it, you might get a special prize!

Now, on to other news :)

My very first ebook release was Proving Santa Exists which is a sexy and sweet Christmas tale. I have a special fondness for writing about Christmas, it’s a great time of year and I love sharing my Christmas Spirit. So here’s the great news. Four of my Christmas stories are being put together in an anthology named (so far) Christmas Spice and the great ladies at Midnight Showcase will be publishing it, hopefully some time in November or early December. This is brand new news and I’ll let you know when I get a cover, release date and price! I know it’s a bit early to be thinking all seasonal, but I thought you’d all want to know :)

Life is good and even having a tooth extracted at the dentist and Man Utd losing yesterday couldn’t dampen my spirits.

  • Today is a special day.
    By on September 23rd, 2007

Yes, folks for today I celebrate 7 years of married bliss with my husband.

7 years, honestly, I can’t believe it’s that long. We’ve known each other for 10 years now and the mind boggles, it really does. I’ve got so many wonderful memories from our years together, here are the edited highlights.

    The Meeting.
We first met online, in a little chat room known as dougs or Columbus chat. Everyone was talking about him “Mitnik’s back.” I heard and I was curious. I was also a bit pissed off when this Mitnik turned up and barely threw a word in my direction so I was flaberghasted when I announced I had to go, that Mitnik typed

*Pinching your bottom as you walk past.*

I blushed all the way home (I used the internet on the Uni computers) and was smitten (or Mitten) from that day on.

I nearly gave up when he rang me a few days later and confused me with a God-awful brummie accent. Thank goodness he moved back to Scouse-land and soon lost the monotone of the midlands. We arranged to meet, well okay, Mitnik rang me one morning. “What are you doing today?”

“Oh, nothing much. Might go in and use the uni computers but that’s it.”
“Okay, well I’m at Lime street, I’ll see you in about an hour.”

Yes, I ran round the house in a panic and rushed off to the station.

It was love at first sight, we hugged and held hands all the way home (except for the bit going past Nanna’s house!) and I sat on his knee (shared online joke) and we kissed, oh how we kissed. I remember it so well, the clear summer sun beating down on us through the window, the feel of his body pressed against mine…ah, heaven.

Well, close to it -we got alot closer under a horse chestnut tree a few hours later whilst on a walk round the park. *grins*

    The Proposal.
The official line is he loved my pavalova so much, he got down on one knee and proposed. The unofficial line is much more scandulous and I daresn’t post incase a family member finds this page and I scar’em for life!!!!

I didn’t hesitate to say “yes” though and we even got some engagement photos done:

    The Wedding
It was a windy, but dry and Sunny Saturday and it was a small, select gathering, but oh, it was a beautiful day. We just had a registry office do, at the town hall and we took photos and a video and had a fantastic laugh. It was a great day, no stress and no upset, just how I’d wanted it.

    Life till now.
We’ve laughed, cried, hurt and rejoiced but we’ve always been in love, always loved and I’d have it no other way. Now we have our little bunde of joy (and mess making) who wil soon be six and I feel like I’m the luckiest lasdy in the whole world to have such a fantastic family.

So, dear reader, tell someone special you love them today -it’s a good day for it!

And dearest Mitnik, thank you so much. I love you, always.

  • Phaze looking for a Proof Reader!
    By on September 19th, 2007

Message from Phaze Boss, K Lively:
When it comes to romance, some like it hot, but everybody likes it spelled correctly! That’s why we want to be certain our readers get the best, most grammatically correct sex around - no holds barred, only dangling participles.

Phaze Books, the erotic romance arm of Mundania Press, LLC, seeks sharp-eyed proofreaders to assist in the preparation of our works. If you love to read sizzling, sexy romance, now is your chance to enjoy unlimited stories and receive monetary compensation for your much-needed efforts.

Ideal candidates must be willing to read works containing explicit sexual content (tough job, but somebody has to do it, and read about doing it). Some books may include multiple partners and unconventional sex practices, same-sex encounters, and/or scenes of dark erotica and/or violence.

Interested readers may contact Kathryn Lively, Phaze publisher, at klively@phaze.com. Please include previous proofing or editing experience.

All candidates will be asked to complete a short proofing test.

Random Quote

“What?” I’m outraged. I feel my blood boiling with the harsh cruelty of it. “Santa does exist.”

“You don’t believe that, do you?” He shakes his head, his eyes wide.

“Yes, yes I do.” I nod my head emphatically. “Maybe not in the way a child does, but I heartily believe in the spirit of Father Christmas. I believe in the meaning behind the make-believe. My faith is in the giving, which is the true centre of the festive season—the heart of it all. It’s all about making life better for other people and, through that, enhancing your own life. Santa definitely exists.”
